On the Hill
Thanks to more than a few nice people, I got to shoot a news conference today at the US Capitol. It was a very interesting experience for me. The thing I most took out of it was “Don’t shoot through the doorway to the Senate.”
Also, “Don’t shoot through the doorway to the Senate.” Then a capital police officer told us “Don’t shoot through the doorway to the Senate.”
We wouldn’t dare.

DC
I’m in DC right now visiting my sister. This city is awesome, if I haven’t said it already. The area, and whole east coast, got hit with 12+ of snow on Saturday and they aren’t the best at cleaning it up. I’m going to try to get some classic B+W night snow shots, if that makes any sense.

Let’s Go to the Mall!
After the Nationals game Sunday, I spent some wonderful time with my mother on a stroll west from the US Capitol and the Supreme Court to the Lincoln Memorial. Some people decided to embarrass themselves on segways. Finished with a meal at the nicest college bar that makes Legend’s look like Kam’s and Kam’s like CO’s.

Capitol Panorama

Since the widest lens I had was a 28mm, I found myself doing quite a few panoramas during my trip to DC. This is the east side, the front of the US Capitol.
