Star Trails Vol. IV

Find Brad’s star trails here: http://thebradmeyer.wordpress.com/2009/11/08/star-trails/
I really want a graduated ND filter so I can expose less for the ground and more for the sky. I tried vertical compositions this time.

Plane trail

Brad wanted to go out tonight to shoot some star trails. Before I put up the two star trails I shot, I’m teasing you with a plane trail. Also, word of wisdom, when out past the south farms, beware of coyotes.

From the Archives pt. II
This image I posted in my blog’s infancy back on blogspot, but that one was only 400px wide. Here’s a better edited 700px wide version for your viewing pleasure.

International Space Station

The ISS orbited over Champaign from around 9:36-9:39 PM tonight. Not as impressive as a B-2 or F-16 fly over, but definitely more expensive.

Windsor Road – Star Trail Three

My third attempt at a star trail, this one with an intentional horizon. I love the colors from the cars passing by. I found this spot when I was coming back from a personal assignment yesterday. Thanks to Elliot for the ride, the company, and recommending I shoot and incorporate the street, just the radio tower would have been a much different scene.
This was cut short due to humidity. I was forming on my d70s and sigma lens, so I got worried and check the d700, it was fine but I ruined an image with the light from my phone and also bumped the camera, and I did not want to start over for the third time. This is 26 images which span about 15 minutes.
