Quad Lightning
I heard yesterday afternoon that a nasty storm was approaching the C-U. I found a place on campus where I thought I could catch a few lightning bolts. Alas, the storm dissapated and I only saw drizzle and three bolts.
Storm Chasing
Stormtrackers 15 was going crazy about an approaching storm, so I decided to head out and try to get some lightning pics – ones not through a window. I chose to go by the Beckman Institute and got the shot I wanted in my head. I didn’t get it in my camera though. I didn’t get anything.

Late Night Lightning
I have been waiting for weeks for lightning storm, it came close once, but tonight it was a big one. Not wanting to get wet or struck, I headed up to the 17th floor of my building to shoot out a window. I was difficult to find what settings were best to shot at. I started with a high iso and 1/20 ss, but soon adjusted to iso 200 and a shutter speed of between a 1/2 and 1 second. I had the camera pressed up against the glass so it was stable. Also I had to cloak the lens with a black towel since the room was fully lit and at 17mm the double pane reflects alot of light into the camera.

As seen there were many water droplets on the window. Please excuse them.
