Gameday
On Saturday, ESPN College Gameday came to the Assembly Hall to make two live broadcasts before the 8pm game between the Michigan State Spartans and the Illinois Fighting Illini. The day was perfect for all the fans – national attention and an upset will over the No. 5 Spartans. Check out the DI audio slideshow of GameDay and the Spartans-Illini game. My final shutter count at the end of the day was 1925 shots; here are my 8 favorite.

After more than a year of shooting at Assembly Hall, tonight I verified that I have found my settings. After fine tuning a preset white balance, pictures out of the camera look great. The first picture below, unfortunately, is from a D2H, a whole other story.
Tonight I also faced my first last shot scenario and it went fairly well. This image shows the action and after this moment I grabbed a few reaction shots (jube).
Finding It
I’ve been struggling to enjoy shooting basketball, maybe because all I’ve shot this year was a non-conference blowout, or maybe it’s just the sedentary nature of sitting on the baseline.
After reviewing the images I edited from last night’s game against Iowa, I notice none of my game shots had the floor.
That’s a fact I enjoy.
