While trying to get this shot, I quickly learned my camera was not stopping down correctly. For whatever reason that I may find out later, to get to f/16 or f/22, I had to tilt my camera vertically, hold down the DOF preview button, compose and shoot one shot – then reload.
If anyone knows what could be the problem, let me know. (I know it’s the camera, not the lenses)

Spring Semester: 2k9
I’ve been meaning to do this for a few weeks now. Here are nine top images from this past semester of working at the DI. I have a little concern with only 3 of the 9 not being sports. Either I shot sports way more than news, or I’m just no good at news. Either way, I hope this summer helps me improve to make stronger news images, and next fall I can find a better balance between the news and sports.

I’m saving myself for the D700,
so instead of photos, here is some math.
At 6:47 PM Eastern, my camera was in MASPETH, NY (that’s Long Island) At 12:43 Eastern, it was scanned in at PARSIPPANY, NJ. That’s 35.2 miles in 5 hours and 56 minutes.
Extrapolating the data… … … …
Now loading… … …
At 6 mph, I will get my camera in 5 days, 20 hours from 12:43 Eastern
That’s Monday, May 4th, 2009 at 8:43 PM, 7:43 PM Central time.
Now B&H says I will get my camera Thursday. It’s a race against the clock, UPS, are you part of the problem or are you the solution?
